Native Origins Calm Legs Review
Native Origins Calm Legs promises to relax jumpy legs and promote peaceful sleep. Native Origins is a company committed to natural ingredients backed by science. However, does this product contain the multiple ingredients needed to soothe the painful symptoms of restless legs? We reviewed this formula and found that it came up slightly short when compared to our first product pick.
The first ingredient we looked at was Magnesium. There are many different types of Magnesium which are responsible for different functions within the body. The 2 types we look for are Magnesium Oxide and Magnesium Glycinate. In this formula, only Magnesium Oxide is present. In addition, there is a very low dose of only 270 mg found in this formula. Compared to our first product pick of 420 mg of Magnesium, this is quite a difference.
Another crucial set of ingredients we looked at were B Vitamins. Again, different B Vitamins are responsible for a variety of functions in the body. These include increasing blood flow and reducing RLS symptoms. In this formula we would just 2 B Vitamins which are Vitamin B12 and Vitamin B9 (as Folic Acid). Both of these vitamins are a positive addition to Native Origins Calm Legs, we just wish there were more B Vitamins included here.
While we were pleased to see the inclusion of both Vitamins C and E, we did notice the absence of Vitamin D. Vitamin D is needed for optimal muscle functioning and can lead to distressing pain to the muscular system.
Many RLS products include the presence of calming herbs to help promote sleep. This product is no exception and includes a large dose of Valerian Root Powder. However, it does not include any other herbs. We would have liked to see Chamomile and/or Lavender for relieving tension and inducing calmness.
Additionally, we would have liked to see L-theanine which is an amino acid known to relieve stress and promote restful sleep.
Finally, the ingredient which we always look for in any supplement, BioPerine, was sadly left out of this supplement. It always astounds us when this is neglected. This is proven to improve the efficacy of any ingredient in your body by increasing bioavailability. Why wouldn’t all supplement manufacturers include it then? That’s what we can’t figure out!
This combination is a great start for a good formula, however, we definitely feel that it could be much better if it included other key ingredients that have been clinically shown to help RLS. If this is something that doesn’t bother you, then keep reading to find out more.
Is Native Origins Calm Legs Effective?
One of the best indicators of how well this will work is the feedback from people who have used it so we turned to actual customer reviews to see what people really think about it and how well (or not) it worked for them and whether they would recommend it. After perusing reviews on the manufacturer’s website as well as on third-party websites such as Amazon, we found many mixed reviews. This was not exactly what we expected to find, but it wasn’t altogether shocking, perhaps this is because of the missing ingredients and lower doses found in this formula.
Another indicator of the efficacy of a product is if it comes with a money-back guarantee. At first glance, the 90-day money-back guarantee seemed very impressive, however, reading the fine print, we noted that this guarantee is only applicable for first-time orders. Additionally, this company has a ‘subscribe and save’ option where consumers will automatically purchase this product each month unless they cancel by a certain day. These autoship programs are notoriously difficult to cancel and we advise consumers to be cautious about not inadvertently signing up for them.
Is Native Origins Calm Legs Safe?
In general, this product is marketed as natural and safe. However, we would definitely advise consulting with your health care provider before taking this product.
Summary
Native Origins Calm Legs has the right idea for an RLS product. We liked that it includes Magnesium, Vitamins B12 and B9 (as Folic Acid), Vitamins C and E as well as Valerian Root Powder. Each of these ingredients are responsible for many causes of restless leg symptoms. They target the muscular system, improve blood flow and promote sleep. All these ingredients are found in the research showing relief for RLS, but in doses that are a bit lower than in shown in clinical research.
Additionally, there are some ingredients which are missing from this product. We would have liked to see another type of Magnesium, for one. Another one that is a rather important one is L-theanine which helps improve sleep quality. We would have also liked to see more calming herbs such as Chamomile and Lavender. Yet another ingredient we would have liked to see is BioPerine. This increases bioavailability which means it takes ingredients and boosts their efficacy so that they work as best as possible in your body. We expect that supplements across the board, no matter which ailment they treat, will have BioPerine.
We liked that the price tag isn’t so cheap it screams low quality, yet still affordable for those looking for long-term RLS relief. But we were uncomfortable when we noted that the return policy does not apply to all customers. We also dislike their autoship option. Both these details insinuate that the manufacturer is trying to reel in buyers without concern for customer service. This is a huge negative point for us when we find so many products out there that do offer a money-back guarantee that to find one that doesn’t offer any kind of guarantee is alarming. Does that mean they don’t expect you to experience good results? Are they not confident in the products’ ability? Who knows, we can only guess the answer to this question.
We know that his company has a good reputation and they manufacture many quality products which we find to be a redeeming feature. We feel that this product was almost there but would need a few tweaks to reach our prime position.
